Part Three: Belizean

In other fantastical dreams, we’d have a water-sports center at the edge of a hip Belizean town where Adam would teach people how to windsurf or kite-surf, even though he’d yet to learn himself. In this spectacular location, I’d host writing retreats for aspiring memoirists. “Imagine how inspiring this place will be!” said Adam, as we sat at the end of a decrepit pier in Belize. Writers would arrive with their partners. One would write while the other learned to sail or surf. It seemed like the perfect way to experience our third act, the one where we are older and our children have launched. It wasn’t that far away… But beyond talking, how would we turn our fantastical dreaming into a reality?
